Theragun Pro vs Hypervolt 2: Which Won After Real-World Testing?

This page was written as a head-to-head between the Theragun Pro and the Hypervolt 2. We cannot support that comparison, and one of the two models has been replaced.

We have not used either massage gun. An earlier version claimed testing by a strength coach, a marathon runner and a physiotherapist, a measured noise reading and a winner. None of that was real, and it has been removed. What is left is what the two makers’ sites show, checked on 6 October 2026.

Hypervolt 2 has been replaced

Hypervolt is made by Hyperice. When we requested Hyperice’s Hypervolt 2 and Hypervolt 2 Pro product addresses, the site redirected to the newer Hypervolt 3. Hyperice’s Hypervolt 3 page lists a US price of $199 (sale, from $249), five speeds, up to 4 hours of battery, 48 dB operation, a weight of 2.0 pounds and five head attachments. These are US dollar prices and the maker’s own claims.

We could not confirm that Hypervolt 2 is no longer sold by UK retailers, so stock may still exist. Check which model a listing actually is.

Theragun models

Therabody’s site currently lists the Theragun PRO and PRO Plus alongside the Prime, Mini, Sense and Relief ranges. It describes the PRO Plus as having LED, heat and vibration. Its listing did not give amplitude, battery or noise figures that we could quote, and its prices were in US dollars. We therefore make no claim about how the Pro compares with any Hypervolt.

Choosing between them

Without testing, we cannot say which is better. Compare the current UK price, battery life, attachments and warranty on the maker’s page or a UK retailer, and check the return policy. If you have an injury, a medical condition or are pregnant, ask a GP or physiotherapist before using a percussion massager.

For other Therabody models see our Theragun Prime page.
